WordPress Plugin – Old Post Message

Overview

This plugin displays a message at the top of all posts older than a specified number of years.
The primary purpose is that technical articles over a year old may contain outdated information unsuitable for the systems being viewed.
Due to its simple functionality, it may be adaptable for other uses with icon or design modifications.

Settings & Features

  1. Log in to WordPress as an administrator
  2. Open Settings
  3. Open Old Post Warning
  4. Please make changes to the content as desired. You can configure the following items.
  • Enable Warning
  • Display Period
  • Warning Message
  • Icon
  • Design Settings

Please download the installation file from the WordPress.org website.

Installation

  1. In the WordPress admin dashboard, click “Plugins” → “Add Plugin”.
  2. Enter “Old Post Message” in the search box and search.
  3. Find this plugin and click “Install Now”
  4. Click “Activate”

If you downloaded the ZIP file, please install it from Add Plugin.

FAQ

On which page will the warning appear?

This will only appear on individual post pages. It will not appear on static pages, archive pages, or the homepage.

Can the displayed period be changed?

Yes, you can set it from 1 to 10 years in the settings menu.

Can I change the message content?

Yes, you can freely edit the text area in the settings screen. The %d part will automatically be replaced with the number of years elapsed.

Can I change the design?

Yes, you can change the background color, border color, and text color from the color picker in the settings screen.

Can I hide the icon?

Yes, you can hide it by leaving the icon field blank in the settings screen.

Can I temporarily disable the function?

Yes, you can disable the feature without deactivating the plugin by unchecking the “Enable Feature” checkbox in the settings screen.

Does it also support custom post types?

The current version only supports regular posts.

Does it support multiple languages?

Currently, only Japanese and English are supported. (ver.1.2.3)

What happens to the data when I delete the plugin?

The display will disappear. When you delete a plugin, its configuration data will also be automatically deleted.
