Bring Mobile News to Your PC: How to Show Discover on Chrome’s New Tab

I am an Android user and when I open a new tab in Chrome on my mobile, I see news. I don't use the Google News app, but I do see a lot of news that interests me and I don't use Google News. I checked to see if there was a way to see the news in Chrome on my PC, and found that the following setting would allow me to do so. The name of the function is "Discover". The advantage is that if you find Google News a bit annoying... The advantage of this feature is that it seems to be just the right amount of information for those who find Google News a bit annoying.

Discover is a Google search function. if you open it in Chrome on your PC, you can open the search application from the menu in the upper right corner, or you can set https://www.google.co.jp to open the new tab display page when it is displayed in a new tab. After setting up, the display layout is roughly the same display.

Settings Description

  1. Open https://google.co.jp or https://google.com
  2. Click Settings at the bottom right of the screen, then click Search Settings
  3. On the Search Settings screen, view Miscellaneous Settings, enable Show Discover on Home page, and close the tab.
  4. Confirm that Discover appears on the search page.
  5. The search page can be accessed by launching the search application from the Google menu or by going to https://google.co.jp or google.com.
